Daeshara'cor was a Twi'lek Jedi Knight, one of the first Twi'lek's to study with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker at his Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. As a young girl, Daeshara'cor was orphaned when her mother was enslaved and as a result, Daeshara spent a lot of time wandering starports. It was here, in these starports that Daeshara learned ways to live below the notice of society, and how to disappear. Daeshara grew up never forgetting the loss of her mother, but soon found some peace when she joined the Jedi Academy. There, Daeshara's training was not an easy one, but she was strong willed and overcame each challenge as it arose to become a Jedi Knight.

Honing her skills to become a great Jedi in the eyes of other Twi'lek's training at the Academy, Daeshara'cor even took special interest in instructing the blue-skinned Twi'lek twins, Numa Rar and Alema Rar. Daeshara'cor was looked up to by many Jedi at the Academy, but the loss of her mother constantly haunted her, and it was this haunting that eventually led Daeshara down the wrong path. When the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, news reached Daeshara that they were enslaving beings and turning them into mindless slaves. This news angered Daeshara very much as it reminded her of her mother.

As the Jedi regrouped and were given missions to halt the Vong's conquest, Daeshara'cor was given the mission to determine if any data files had survived the destruction of the Maw Installation, the region of space where the Empire hid its scientific center to design and test their superweapons. This mission gave Daeshara an idea, and instead of proceeding with her given mission, Daeshara left Coruscant in search of any superweapons of the Empire that may have survived, that could be used against the Yuuzhan Vong. Using the skills she learned as a child, she didn't board her assigned ship, but instead traveled to Vortex hoping to throw the Jedi following her off the trail.
