Gilp was a young Jedi trainee who trained at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant during the Clone Wars. In one the Temple's occasional Jedi Apprentice Tournaments, Gilp participated in one that was eventually won by fellow Jedi trainee Tallisbeth Enwandung-Esterhazy. In the first round of the tournament, Gilp fought against Page in a lightsaber duel. The first one to score three burns with the lightsaber or force the other to submit was declared the winner.
