Hardin - Page 2

Had a squad of Jedi fighters not arrived to destroy the Sith ships, Torr Snapit, Hardin, and Darovit would have surely been destroyed. Nonetheless, Master Snapit was forced to make a crash landing far from the Jedi's camp, deep within the forests of Ruusan which were crawling with Sith minions. As they made their way towards the Jedi forces, dusk approached as well as the Sith. Surrounding the trio, Hardin and Darovit helped fend them off with wooden clubs and stones. As they made their escape, they came upon a rope-bridge spanning an immense gorge. Hardin and Darovit ran ahead to the other side while Torr fended off the Sith minions, giving them a chance to escape.

The Sith however were too great in number to hold off indefinitely, and he saw an opportunity to defeat the lot of them. Drawing them out towards the middle of the bridge, Torr slashed the support ropes and sent the entire mob, including himself, plunging into the cavern below. From the otherside Hardin and Darovit could not believe what they had witnessed. Before continuing, Darovit climbed into the gorge to retrieve Master Snapit's lightsaber, and when he returned found more Sith waiting for the pair. Lucky for Hardin and Darovit, they were saved by the arrival of Jedi Knight Kiel Charny and his platoon.

Commander Charny escorted Hardin and Darovit to the Jedi's base camp, but Darovit was disheartened to find a band of Jedi that appeared weak and broken. While Hardin was content to do anything he could to help in the war effort, Darovit was eager to rush into battle, lightsaber ablaze to mow down the Sith. When others made light of Darovit's ambition he responded with anger attacking with Torr Snapit's lightsaber only to be embarrassed again. Humiliated, Hardin watched as Darovit left to find Master Charny again.

At the same time, a power struggle was occurring within the Sith forces. Darth Bane rivaled Lord Kaan for leadership of the Brotherhood of Darkness. While Lord Kaan's strategy was based around traditional military tactics, Darth Bane wished the Sith to band together and attack the Jedi using their collective strength in the Force. Meditating on a high ridge in the mountains of Ruusan, Darth Bane led them in an effort to create a Force storm that would ravage Ruusan's surface and decimate the Jedi. The only thing that saved the Jedi from being destroyed completely was that many of the Sith broke the meditation circle to finish off the Jedi hand-to-hand.
