Petja took aim and hit Laa right between the eyes, sending Zannah flying from her perch atop his head. In the dust of Ruusan, Zannah's friend, Laa, died in her arms. As Petja ran over to ensure she was unhurt a rage boiled within her and with merely a glance, used the Force to snap Petja's neck and the neck of an accompanying Jedi. It appeared Laa's vision of Zannah as a Dark Jedi was not so inconceivable. It turned out that Darth Bane had witnessed the incident and saw in Zannah a potentially powerful apprentice, someone he could mold in the ways of the Sith to carry on the legacy Bane hoped to restore. It was then that Zannah, a young girl from Somov Rit became Darth Zannah, future Dark Lord of the Sith.
