With the help of an underground Ugnaught resistance movement, Banz and the Jedi escaped from their cell into the caverns below the base. When Grievous learned of their escape he pursued them personally, only to be met by Kybo, Ty, and Tone who had also discovered the apprentices. While Flynn Kybo and B'Dard Tone occupied Grievous, Codi Ty rushed Banz and the clan to safety aboard their ship. The Jedi left Belsus believing that Jedi Master Tone and Flynn Kybo sacrificed their lives to kill Grievous, but in reality, he survived the ordeal. The entire clan was delivered safely to Coruscant, the only good outcome of the mission. Codi Ty was banished from the Jedi Order for disobeying the Council in taking part in the mission, and Banz continued his training among the backdrop of a war that was consuming more and more of the galaxy.
