Ma'kis'shaalas - Page 3

However, Ma'kis'shalaas and the Jedi were branded as traitors and the newly established Emperor Palpatine initiated state sponsored genocide of the survivors. Hunted across the galaxy, Ma'kis'shalaas was forced to go into hiding. From the shadows, the Nikto Jedi Master watched as the Empire rose to power under the command of the new Emperor and his mysterious new commander, Darth Vader - a new Sith Lord extremely powerful in the Force. It became clear that Palpatine could not be dealt with until Vader was out of the picture.

When Ma'kis'shalaas received word from another survivor, Shadday Potkin, that she was organizing a meeting of Jedi to discuss the return of the Sith and the future of their order. Meeting deep underground in an abandoned spice mine on Kessel, Ma'kis'shalaas joined surviving Jedi Bultar Swan, Tsui Choi, Roblio Darte, Sia-Lan Wezz, Koffi Arana, and Jastus Farr. As the meeting began the Jedi discussed just how they could have fallen so far, experienced such devastation. There was talk of revenge; there was talk of saving the Republic; there was talk of directly confronting Palpatine and Vader.

Always a Jedi of action, Ma'kis'shalaas believed that while it would no doubt be difficult to engage the two Sith Lords, it should at least be tried. When the topic of discussion turned to philosophy and the dangers of treading to the Dark Side Shadday put an end to the debate. The meeting unfolded exactly as Shadday feared, that the Jedi would turn to dialog when action was needed. Presuming this would be the case, Shadday took it upon herself to ensure the Jedi would confront Vader by allowing news of the meeting to reach Vader and the Emperor.

Shortly after the meeting was underway, Vader burst into the chamber lightsaber blazing, ready to confront the Jedi. Any question of confronting Vader had been answered. Ma'kis'shalaas and the Jedi ignited their swords and moved into a defensive formation. Sia-Lan Wezz was the first to die and despite his Morgukai and Jedi training, Ma'kis'shalaas followed. Vader simply overpowered the Nikto Jedi Master and sliced him from stomach to sternum. Ma'kis'shalaas was one of the toughest Jedi Knights of his day, and it took Darth Vader, one of the most powerful Sith Lord's the galaxy had ever seen, to finally send him to become one with the Force.
