Siolo Ur Manka was a Twi'lek Jedi Knight of the Old Republic and was considered to be one of the best swordsman of the Jedi Order. Towards the latter end of his career as a Jedi, Siolo opted to seclude himself in the Jentares System, becoming a recluse and spending much of his time meditating on the Force. However, the Jentares System was not far enough to hide Siolo from a young Darth Maul, sent by his Master, Darth Sidious, to assassinate the Jedi. During their first encounter, Darth Maul discovered Siolo as he was peacefully meditating in the forests of the remote planet. However, Maul overestimated the ease of the task, and to his surprise, anger, and embarrassment, Siolo managed to repel him with a simple walking stick. Beaten but not broken, Maul fled, determined to return for a second match. Replaying the fight in his mind, Maul sought a weakness in the way the Jedi fought; soon, Maul knew what he had to do. As Siolo expected, Maul returned, and with words to Maul that expressed Siolo's opinion that his skills were inferior, the two engaged in battle a second time. Using the exact same attack as before, Darth Maul allowed Siolo to play right into his hands. Using his walking stick again, Siolo pinned Maul's arm and lightsaber behind the his back, with the blade pointing safely away from Siolo and the butt of Maul's hilt in Siolo's back. However, this is exactly what Maul wanted. With a flick of a second switch, Maul revealed his weapon for what it truly was, a double-bladed lightsaber, and with that click the second blade emerged and right through Siolo's chest. Unable to foresee this creative attack, Siolo died questioning the attack as a trick. However, before the Twi'lek Jedi became one with the Force, Maul denied the attack as a trick and labeled it for what it was. . . 'simple victory.'
