However, when Vima gave Leia a lightsaber, an ancient lightsaber, almost ten thousand years old, Leia knew there was more to Vima than met the eye. However, the urgency of Han and Leia's mission on Nar Shadda forced them to take Vima's gift and move on. As the fight against the Reborn Emperor continued, Leia soon realized that Vima was an important link to the Jedi of the Old Republic and returned to Nar Shadda with Han Solo and Chewbacca to take her with them, back to Coruscant. During the trip, Vima could sense that Leia was pregnant with a soon-to-be born son, eventually Anakin Solo, who would grow up to be a Jedi Knight and strong in the Force as well.

Additionally, Han and Leia had located another Jedi Knight who had survived the Jedi Purge, Jedi Knight Empatojayos Brand, who was in fact severely mutilated by Darth Vader and left for dead. However, like Darth Vader himself, Empatojayos kept himself alive through the use of a bio-suit. This gathering of Jedi and Force users was enough to spark Vima into readopting her Jedi heritage. It was here that Vima once again took up her role as a Jedi Knight to help rid the galaxy of evil. As the Alliance was forced to move from planet to planet, Vima eventually met up with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, and together, Vima, Brand, and Skywalker began the training of Jem Brogan and Rayf Brogan of the Ysanna of Ossus. The return of the Jedi was crucial to the success of the Alliance, and time could not be wasted.

When the Reborn Emperor sent his Executors to find the Luke Skywalker and the Alliance, the Executors sent poison worms to kill Jedi Master Skywalker, and it was Vima who saw to Luke, counteracting the poison and preventing it from working. Vima, Luke, and the Jedi were soon able to defeat most of the Reborn Emperor's Executors, and soon all that remained was the Emperor himself. Using the remote Onderon system as a safehouse, Vima took time to teach Leia in the ways of the Jedi and the Force, helping her through a Jedi manuscript about Jedi Battle Meditation written in classical Ossan.

Unfortunately, the Onderon system was not enough to hid Vima and the Jedi, and soon the group, led by Han Solo, was forced to retreat to the war-torn world of Onderon. The group formed a plan that they hoped would trick the Emperor and lead him away from Onderon and Leia. Vima would go in the Millennium Falcon, with the Wookie, Chewbacca, and hopefully jump to hyperspace before the Emperor realized Leia, and her newly born son, Anakin Solo, whom was the target of the Emperor's fury, were not on board. The Emperor hoped to use baby Anakin as a new body, one he could grow into and again rule the galaxy without the complications of living in a clone body. Unfortunately, when the plan was put into action, the Emperor saw through the ruse and did not pursue the ship.
